Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree in nursing, health administration or related field required. Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to plan and meet deadlines. Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office software (Word / Excel). Ability to read, write and communicate in English required. Minimum five (5) years clinical nursing experience, including three (3) year as a Nurse Manager or comparable leadership role. Demonstrated ability to assume role of on-site administrative coordinator, if necessary. Demonstrated ability to assume role of NSA Coordinator, as necessary. Current / valid NYS licensure as Registered Nurse. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or equivalent. NRP, ACLS, PALS. CNML certification within 18 months of hire. OB experience required Demonstrated knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques. Demonstrated sound clinical skills and understanding of acute care standards of practice. Demonstrated participation on councils and / or committees. Demonstrated knowledge of local, NYS, Department of Health (DOH), Joint Commission regulations.
Job Description The Nurse Manager I is responsible for overseeing the provision of quality patient care from admission to discharge, supporting patient care delivery of designated unit(s) on a twenty-hour (24) hour basis. Patient movement through all the functions of the hospital experience will be the focus of the Nurse Manager’s role, with emphasis on accuracy, stellar service and appropriate patient education
