Freshen up your wardrobe and shop for free at our back-to-school-themed shop! Northwell Off the Rack is an eco-friendly, pop-up thrift shop exclusively for team members and their families, giving pre-loved clothing a second chance.
Three ways to get involved
1. July 6 – July 17: Donate
Look for drop boxes at designated Northwell locations across Nassau, Suffolk and Queens (see full list on the right). We are collecting gently used or ‘like new’ attire, shoes and accessories for back-to-school.
2. July 27 – August 1: Volunteer
Northwell team members can volunteer at the shop in New Hyde Park by selecting an available timeslot below. You must have your manager’s approval in advance. You will be notified by HR via email to confirm participation with details.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Stop by during a break or before or after work and bring your family members.
Please bring your ID badge with you; family must be accompanied by a team member.

Free backpacks and school supplies available at the pop-up shop, while supplies last!
Thank you! With your support, we collected more than 35,631 pounds of donations for clothing, shoes and accessories, welcomed more than 6,855 shoppers, had more than 1,256 Northwell volunteers participate, donated more than 543 pounds of food and donated 962 pounds of items to The Salvation Army.
