Welcoming Veterans and Military Service Members to apply for Northwell’s North Shore University Hospital Sterile Processing Technician Train and Earn Program
Northwell’s North Shore University Hospital is proud to offer a paid comprehensive training program, in partnership with our Military Liaison Services team, to support veterans and military service members who are looking for a career as a sterile processing technician. This six-to-eight-week, on-the-job, paid training program will prepare eligible veterans and military service members.
Northwell Health is providing a full scholarship to all veterans and military service members who participate in the North Shore University Hospital Sterile Processing Technician Train and Earn Program. Please submit your resume in advance.
Northwell’s North Shore University Hospital Sterile Processing Technician Train and Earn Program overview:
Northwell’s North Shore University Hospital is honored to support veterans and military service members throughout our communities by providing them with an opportunity to jumpstart a career as a sterile processing technician.
Program details:
- This on-the-job, paid training program begins on Monday, May 4, for sterile processing technicians and takes place in-person for six-to-eight (6-8) weeks.
- Upon successful completion of Northwell’s North Shore University Hospital Sterile Processing Technician Train and Earn Program, each participant has an opportunity to be promoted to a full-time Northwell employee, working as a sterile processing technician.
- Northwell will pay you a salary of $25 an hour, plus comprehensive Northwell benefits.

Our training program is for veterans and military service members who:
- Have earned a state-endorsed high school diploma or HSE/TASC (formerly GED certificate).
- Pass a background check.

- STEP 1: Submit your resume to apply for the Sterile Processing Technician Train and Earn Program by Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
- STEP 2: Qualified candidates will be contacted by a member of the Northwell Health team.
- STEP 3: Final candidates will be invited to an in-person interview at a designated date and time.
- STEP 4: Candidates will be notified of acceptance the week of March 30, 2026.
