Northwell Health’s Staten Island University Hospital is proud to offer a paid comprehensive training program, in partnership with our Military Liaison Services, to support veterans and military service members who are looking to advance their career as a senior patient care associate. This on-the-job, paid training program will prepare eligible veterans and military service members to take the next step in their career.

Northwell’s Staten Island University Hospital Senior Patient Care Associate Train and Earn Program
Northwell Health is honored to support veterans and military service members throughout our communities by providing them with an opportunity to jumpstart a career as a senior patient care associate.
Program details:

- This on-the-job, paid training program begins on Monday, May 18, 2026, and takes place in-person, Monday through Friday, for approximately six to eight (6-8)-weeks.
- The training format of the course includes both didactic and experiential learning as a senior patient care associate.
- Upon successful completion of Northwell’s Staten Island University Hospital Senior Patient Care Associate Train and Earn Program, each participant has an opportunity to be promoted to a permanent Northwell employee, working as a senior patient care associate. You must remain in this role for at least one year at Northwell Health.
- Northwell will pay you a rate of $25.43 an hour, plus comprehensive Northwell benefits.

Eligibility requirements and program commitments*:
Our training program is for eligible veterans and military service members who:
- Have earned a state-endorsed high school diploma or HSE/TASC (formerly GED certificate).
- Provide an employment commitment to work as a senior patient care associate at Northwell for at least one year, following successful completion of the program.

Each applicant can use the below steps as a guide throughout the training program application process.
STEP 1: Submit your resume to apply for the Senior Patient Care Associate Train and Earn Program by Thursday, April 2, 2026.
STEP 2: Qualified candidates will be contacted by a member of the Northwell Health team.
STEP 3: Final candidates will be invited to an in-person interview at a designated date and time.
STEP 4: Candidates will be notified of acceptance by the week of April 13, 2026.
