Job Description
Supervises and coordinates the day to day operations of Anesthesia Technologists. Ensures adherence to established maintenance and decontamination standards and procedures.
Job Responsibility
- Promotes Anesthesia department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
- Leads the activities of assigned Anesthesia team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
- Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff.
- Prioritizes schedules and assigns work to optimize operational service.
- Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.
- Ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
- Trains staff in the operation, troubleshooting and initiation of repairs to anesthesia equipment.
- Supervises and maintains anesthesia equipment located in satellite procedural and ambulatory surgical centers.
- Ensures staff adherence to safety and infection control policies including decontamination procedures and waste disposal.
- Monitors the environment and equipment to ensure decontamination standards are maintained.
- Prepares appropriate departmental statistics, QA monitors and provides reports to management, including monthly laboratory QA and Blood Salvage reports.

Job Qualification
- Associate’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current Anesthesia Technologist Certification, and Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
