Job Description
Assists Physical Therapists/Physical Therapy Assistants with patient care and clerical support in outpatient physical therapy clinic.
Job Responsibility
- * Assists Physical Therapists/Physical Therapy Assistants with patient bed mobility/transfers/ambulation and exercises to provide assistance to patients as required by the Physical Therapists.
- Brings Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machine to Recovery area and initiates CPM for patients use as per MD orders.
- Assists PT’s/PTA’s with patient instruction of activities of daily living.
- Prepares hot packs, cold packs, and other treatment protocols under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapists/Physical Therapy Assistants.
- Measures/adjusts walkers/canes/ crutches for patients.
- Transports patients to and from Physical Therapy via wheelchair or stretcher as necessary.
- * Maintains physical therapy inpatient gym/outpatient area/8 Wollman gym: cleans equipment daily with alcohol, maintains linen supplies, changes linens on treatment tables following each patient use
- Maintains equipment including, but not limited to, unpacking and stocking closets with equipment, i.e canes and crutches.
- * Ordering and distribution of equipment: canes/crutches for amb/surg patients, walkers/CPM’s from CDPD for orthopedic patients.
- Distributes canes to 1st floor amb/surg, walkers/CPM’s to patients requiring them
- Assists outpatient department with equipment/supply needs
- Obtains and distributes daily OR list and orders equipment based on OR census.
- * Clerical duties include, but are not limited to: answer and direct calls, take messages, retrieve voice mail.
- Performs other clerical duties as directed by the Clinical Manager of Physical Therapy i.e photocopying, mail rounds etc.
- Prepares the pre-op total joint class folders and sets-up for the class.
- Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Experience in physical therapy, preferred.
- Knowledge of assistive devices for ambulation, patient transfer equipment (wheelchair and stretcher functions and safety), hydrocollator and CPM, required.

The salary range for this position is $29.75-$31.88/hour
