Job Description
Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with disorders impacting eye movement and positioning. Provides diagnosis and treats ocular motility or eye muscular disorders, under supervision.
Job Responsibility
- Under the direction of an Ophthalmologist, diagnoses and treats ocular motility or eye muscular disorders, such as amblyopia, diplopia, or strabismus.
- Evaluates each assigned patient in terms of current or potential problems with vision, muscle balance, binocular sensory relationships, or related ocular disorder.
- Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of visual defects and oculomotor movement disorders by administering Orthoptic and diagnostic tests.
- Implements treatment programs for selected patients based on evaluation results.
- Provides non-surgical treatment through the use of eye patches or exercises, and assists the Ophthalmologist in planning and performing more invasive corrections.
- Re-evaluates on-going therapy, instituting appropriate changes in the management plan.
- Tracks patient treatment and reports on progress.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current Orthoptist Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $98300.00-$170100.00/year.
