Full-Time (37.5 hrs/wk): 10-hour shifts, four days per week, Monday through Friday with potential option for occasional three 12-hour shifts per week depending on the OR schedule. No nights, weekends, or holidays currently. Schedule is highly variable week to week
The Robotic Surgery Advanced Clinical Provider (ACP) functions as a first assistant in a high-volume, multi-specialty robotic surgery program. This position is based exclusively in the inpatient operating room and does not include clinic duties, patient panel management, or outpatient responsibilities currently. The ACP supports attending surgeons to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality robotic surgical first assisting.
The Robotic Surgery ACP provides first-assist coverage across Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, and Otolaryngology (ENT). Procedures are performed using the Da Vinci Xi, DV5 and Da Vinci SP robotic platforms. Training on the Da Vinci SP platform will be provided as needed.
Job Responsibility
- Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
- Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
- Performs daily patient rounds.
- Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
- Interprets laboratory and test results.
- Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
- Upon discharge, notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts.
- Informs patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program, required.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required.
- Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
- Current BLS certification, required.
