Job Description
Performs a variety of functions and procedures necessary to support the execution of clinical research, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation. Participates in performance improvement, research, and educational activities.
Job Responsibility
1.Collaborates with research administrative and medical staff leadership in defining challenges, opportunities, and initiatives
2.Acts in the role of Investigator for clinical research trials
3.Conduct the informed consent process and obtain informed consent.
4.Evaluate and treat on the basis of history, physical examination, radiology, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results, pursuant to the practice/research protocols and collaborative practice agreement.
5.Evaluate and verify assessments are within treatment parameters for treatment or continued protocol participation.
6.Evaluate and treat untoward reactions according to the standard of care and protocol guidelines.
7.Ascertain real-time drug accountability and regulatory maintenance.
8.Administer and monitor patient study drug, as per study protocol
9.Conduct study related procedures and study-related patient education.
10.Collaborates with the clinical team to determine treatment plans for patients, and reviews and documents evaluations, assessments, diagnostic testing, and other appropriate data.
11.Participates in quality meetings to discuss cases and review clinical research outcomes.
12.Organizes clinical pathways to promote quality patient care and optimize outcomes.
13.Ensures follow-up communications are carried out with patients throughout the clinical trial.
14.Meets the educational needs of families and other health care professionals concerning the research protocols
15.Prescribe and manage supportive care medications.
16.Initiate referrals to other health care providers, and/or consult with the attending physician or the collaborating physician.
17.Perform phone triage for acute clinical issues and conduct phone assessments as required per the protocol and prescribe treatment as needed.
18.Works to enhance outreach and education efforts within the research community
19.Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification
Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and National Board Certification in specialty area required.
Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State, and current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education in New York State, or current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
Current BLS certification, required.

The salary range for this position is $130300.00-$228000.00/year.
