Evaluates and treats referred patients with massage to enhance well-being, reduce the physical and mental effects of stress and tension, prevent disease, and restore health. Applies a variety of scientifically developed massage techniques to the soft tissue of the body to improve muscle tone and circulation. Maintains complete medical records for each patient.
Responsibilities:
- Designs a treatment plan to achieve mutually established goals
- Administers massage in accordance with the physician /practitioner order
- Observes patient’s tolerance and/or status during treatment, and modifies treatment, as needed
- Maintains and submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department
- Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities
- Interacts with members of the inter-disciplinary staff pertaining to the welfare and management of assigned patients
- Obtains the basic medical history for a client, assesses any problems or conditions, and suggests appropriate massage techniques based on current health of client.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current License to practice as a Massage Therapist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required

The salary range for this position is $52.00-$80.00/hour.
