Job details

Job Description

Identifies medical record deficiencies and processes accordingly. Assists physicians with medical records projects, as needed.

Job Responsibility

Conducts a daily record review and identifies documentation deficiencies.
Utilizes computer system to enter and record all deficiencies.
Generates deficiency report and attaches to corresponding medical record.
Interfiles miscellaneous documents in appropriate record and distributes remaining reports, as required.
Checks ticklers for operative reports and discharge summaries not yet placed in the medical record.
Reviews incomplete charts to determine which record deficiencies have been corrected.
Updates records in computer system.
Assists Physicians and maintains physician attendance log, documenting work completed.
Refers questions about the status of dictated reports to the transcription office.
Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.

Job Qualification

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
