Job Description
Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily operations of health information management within the department.
Job Responsibility
- Promotes Health Information Management department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
- Leads the activities of assigned Health Information Management team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
- Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
- Prioritizes, schedules, assigns, and monitors work to optimize operational service; analyzes, recommends, implements, and monitors approved work-flow changes.
- Maintains compliance with the policies and procedures of Medical Records; ensures patient medical records conform to State, Local, and Federal regulations.
- Conducts past and current audits of patient records to ensure accurate record keeping; informs and educates staff of regulatory changes, as needed.
- Participates in evaluating and implementing quality control/performance improvement related practices; implements systems and procedures that ensure timely placement of all documents into patient medical record.
- Establishes mechanisms to measure adherence to system(s) developed, and to handle delays and system errors; evaluates systems and implements modifications to ensure adherence to high quality Medical Records standards.
- Compiles data into reports, noting trends, and patterns in procedures.
- Participates in developing and delivering training related to operations Assists nursing and billing staff to access and retrieve medical record information.

Job Qualification
- Associate’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $66300-$83500/year
