Job Description
Coordinates and oversees the daily operations of the nuclear medicine technologists and maintains the technical aspects of nuclear medicine services.
Job Responsibility
- Positions and instructs patients in preparation for the application of radio nuclides using specialized equipment and procedures.
- Adjusts nuclear equipment to the correct setting for each examination as prescribed by the attending physician.
- Performs renal scans on pediatric population and handles emergency situations.
- Reviews the processing of nuclear studies.
- Performs routine Quality Assurance testing
- Orders radiological pharmaceuticals.
- Follows guidelines set forth by ACR and DOH. Prepares and maintains records and files of procedures.
- Troubleshoots equipment failure, makes repairs where possible Insures equipment is functioning properly on a continuous basis.
- Monitors the level of stock of supplies, as needed.
- Provides training and technical direction to lower level technologists and nurses in nuclear procedures and processes.

Job Qualification
- Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
- Current License to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in New York State,
- Current ARRT Nuclear registration,
- or Current CNMT registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 3-5 years of technical experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $65.37-$73.66/hour.
