Job Description
Registers patients and provides information regarding Hospital rules and regulations. conduct interviews to obtain demographics and insurance information. Keys information into the Patient Registration System. Obtains appropriate signature on medical, legal and financial forms. Performs a variety of other clerical duties related to patient’s registration.
Job Responsibility
- Greets patients and/or visitors to the department in a courteous manner.
- Interviews patients/significant others and obtain all relevant demographic and insurance data.
- Reviews prior account balances upon request and educate patients regarding their financial responsibilities, including outstanding balances, required deposits, and point-of-service payment obligations.
- Communicates payment expectations clearly and accurately to ensure patient understanding and compliance.
- Obtains appropriate signatures on medical, legal and financial forms.
- Performs financial assessments of patients who are uninsured, makes appropriate referrals for financial assistance.
- Activates all pre-admission and admission information into computer.
- Places identification band on patient upon registration.
- Direct or assist patients to appropriate department or assigned room, as required.
- Provides interpretation of Hospital policies and regulations to patients including, but not limited to visiting hours, patient rights, services etc.
- Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Prior customer service experience required.
- Data entry skills (80 kpm), required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital registration functions.
- Hospital experience, preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, preferred.

The salary range for this position is $27.38-$29.38/hour.
