Job Description
Establishes and executes a comprehensive multi-year fundraising plan to significantly increase philanthropic support for respective fundraising area of the Cancer Institute. Partners with the leadership to fulfill annual goals and objectives. Manages and solicits a portfolio of major gift prospects and oversees Advisory Board.
Job Responsibility
- Leads the Development group by communication with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area.
- Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
- Implements a comprehensive multi-year fundraising plan to significantly increase philanthropic support. Identifies, cultivates and stewards donors and prospects for fundraising area.
- Maintains a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, maintaining frequent contact with prospects, organization leaders and volunteers; plans systematic, appropriate and effective solicitation strategies for major gift prospects.
- Provides strategic direction in partnership with key stakeholders to optimize fundraising.
- Leads, inspires and coordinates the efforts, including overseeing/promoting their productivity, teamwork and professional development.
- Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; provides coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities to staff to increase capabilities and create an environment of engagement.
- Develops and manages budget for the group.
- Creates annual plans for fundraising in coordination and collaboration with the leadership.
- Partners with Special Events team, provides guidance to team members in supporting fundraising committees and related events and activities led by volunteers.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with colleagues throughout the organization, by demonstrating leadership in the development community.
- Coordinates and facilitates activities and prospect identification, engagement and solicitations, including advising chairs, department heads and development colleagues on the culture, expectations and needs of medical development constituents.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
- 10+ years fundraising experience.

The salary range for this position is $140,100-$245,200/year
