Directs, plans and organizes resources within departments to meet short and long term department goals, maintain patient experience and employee engagement. Prepare and analyze budget and appropriately direct resources to meet financial goals. Manages team members and management staff, recommends/implements appropriate policies and procedures.
Job Responsibility
- Leads an Imaging Services group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area.
- Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
- Plans, directs and evaluates all the technical aspects of the department’s services and programs.
- Meets with vendors to gather required information needed to perform equipment evaluation for potential purchases.
- Performs continuous monitoring of the quality of service given by vendors who have service contracts and warranties with the Hospital.
- Reviews the demand for services and evaluates/assesses the potential expansion of the radiology service.
- Maintains responsibility for the preparation and management of the department’s personnel, supplies and equipment budgets.
- Evaluates the technical, clerical and auxiliary staffing requirements necessary to provide quality patient care and to perform services rendered by Radiology department in an efficient and productive manner.
- Maintains proper staffing levels.
- Collaborates with radiology supervisors to develop standards for recruitment, interviewing and development of staff.
- Assists in the coordination of in-service and continuing education programs for staff to ensure technical quality of films and quality patient care is rendered.
- Performs recruitment of radiology personnel and recommends/authorizes the promotions, transfers, and hiring of Radiology Technologists, clerical and auxiliary staff.
- Ensures timely completion of the staff competency assessments and performance evaluations.
- Coordinates and organizes the planning and construction for replacement and new equipment and installations.
- Plans and organizes the space requirements.
- Obtains the architectural drawings for the project.
- Sets timetable for the project and prepares staff for changes in scheduling or triage of the radiology procedures prior to the construction.
- Resolves problems requiring administrative authority or professional knowledge and outlines policies, procedures and methods for resolving lesser problems by staff.
- Informs supervisory staff of proper Hospital procedure and department procedure when dealing with different departmental and personnel issues.
- Offers assistance and guidance to staff. Promotes the idea that all of the staff, particularly the supervisory staff, extends courtesy and consideration to others.
- Delegates duties and responsibilities to staff.
- Prepares reports and documents for the C.O.N. applications.
- Identifies the trends for demand of radiology services.
- Evaluates the department statistics.
- Supplies technical information and materials and helps prepare application justifications for equipment.
- Coordinates Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities.
- Incorporates the departmental statistics into the Q.A. Committee and Utilization Committee and identifies quality indicators.
- Organizes the In-house equipment maintenance programs to ensure testing procedures are performed and equipment is maintained.
- Ensures proper logs are maintained of these various testing procedures.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 8-12 years of experience in healthcare and/or imaging services and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $140,100-$245,200/year
