Job Description
Leads and guides Phlebotomists. Draws blood from adult, pediatric and infant patients and processes specimens following established procedures and techniques. Schedules work, maintains related records and prepares monthly reports for assigned area(s) of service. Provides guidance and training to employees, also oversees the work of trainees at the request of the supervisor and/or manager.
Job Responsibility
1.Assists in the coordination of specimen processing, order entry, order inquiries, result and report inquiries, collection requirements, specimen/ order problems, and supply inventory for the Phlebotomy section of the Laboratory. May function as site lead.
2.Performs venipuncture procedures on patients and any other collection of blood, urine, sputum and stool specimens, nasal swabs; may be required to perform the more difficult cases.
3.Collects, prepares, and labels specimens for examination.
4.Conducts appropriate specimen delivery to laboratory. 5.Identifies, documents and alerts appropriate medical staff involving incorrect or inappropriate specimens and/or orders.
6.Provides guidance and training to employees. May oversee the work of trainees at the request of the supervisor and/or manager.
7.Demonstrates working knowledge of the Laboratory computer system(s).
8.Performs clerical duties involved in specimen collection for diagnostic studies.
9.Top expert and functional mentor; possesses the most advanced knowledge of the function/family and department
10.Makes recommendations to management on process improvement, new processes, tools and techniques, or development of new clinical services

Job Qualification
1.High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2.Current Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred, plus specialized certifications as needed.
3.5+ years of technical experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $44,450-$69,340/year
